The eclectic nature of the band’s upbringing is a fair indication of The Sneaker Trio sound, as is the self-stated description 'raw, soul powered reggae, hip hop, and rock and roll folk music'. There are a few of their ilk about currently, mixing smooth acoustic with funk-laden grooves and the occasional G Love-esque MC Aussie. The Sneaker Trio's EP Big Smoke at least has a thorough production value, coupled with a greater grasp of their varied genres of influence that manages to poke them out above their contemporaries in the believability stakes.
